Lobi's and Senoufo's countries

DAY 1 : arrival, welcome and transfer to the Grand Calao.

DAY 2 : after breakfast, departure to BOBO DIOULASSO. A first stop to assist to the sacred crocodiles lunch that live in the pond of SABOU. Lunch at BOROMO, a place where you will, maybe, meet elephants. Interruption at WAHABOU to discover and take some photos of the mosque made in banco. Last stop at KORO, to visit a small Bobos’ village built on the rock. Diner and night at the Auberge hotel.

DAY 3 : second town of the Burkina Faso, BOBO DIOULASSO is a city of greenery and traditional music. Tour of the museum where are represented in live size Senoufo's, Peulh's, Bobo's houses. You will also discover its old district and its mosque in banco built more than à century ago. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon you will go to the Guinguette, a pond where bathing is possible. After diner, an evening party with traditional music is foreseen for those who are interested. Diner and night at the Auberge hotel.

DAY 4 : departure to BANFORA, where you will tour sugar cane plantations and the refinery. A stop to admire the domes of FABEDOUGOU (looking as real calcareous cathedrals carved by erosion), followed by a walk around the waterfalls of KERFIGUELA where bathing is possible. Then you will discover Senoufo's country and assist to crafts-men’s work (basket-making, pottery...) ; you will sail with a pirogue on the lake of TENGRELA and look for hippopotamus… Diner and night at the Canne à Sucre*** hotel in Banfora.

DAY 5 : after breakfast, departure for GAOUA, in Lobi's land. You will cross Senoufo's villages and very green lands. A stop at LOROPENI (the origins of the fort are unknown, it may have been a place where slaves were collected). Arriving to OBIRE, you will perhaps meet the king of the Gan (small ethnic group insisting on holding their identity). Picnic at noon, diner and night at Hala** hotel.

DAY 6 : you will go to the museum of GAOUA ; it will give you the opportunity of being initiated to the Lobi's culture (statuettes, usual tools, photos, explanatory noticeboards). The aim of that day is the discovery of Lobi's villages where, sometimes, it is possible to assist to traditional ceremonies. Meals and night in Hala hotel.

DAY 7 : near DIEBOUGOU, you will visit a small fort cave, dated from the first war, made by Germans. Lunch in SABOU or in LEO (in a local restaurant). You will arrive at Ouaga in the middle of the afternoon. Diner and night in the Grand Calao.

DAY 8 : tour of OUAGADOUGOU with its bronze makers, its crafts-men’s center. Lunch in town, then transfer to the airport at the end of the afternoon.
